In these cases (most motorcycles fall into this category) the AIS/PAIR solenoid feed line should be plugged with a vacuum cap to prevent air from flowing from the airbox to the air injection system. In some cases, the AIS/PAIR solenoids used are “naturally closed”, which means that when we disable this system through ECU flashing software, the solenoid remains closed and now air can pass through the system! Unfortunately, most AIS/PAIR solenoids are “naturally open”, so when the system is disabled the solenoid still allows air to pass through the system. It also negatively impacts throttle response and smoothness by interrupting your engine’s normal exhaust pulse flow. It may sound cool, but is quite hard on the exhaust valves and will eventually blow the packing right out of your muffler. I'm having my brothers bike mapped on the dyno mid April for his birthday (not a victory) and will be having mine done at the same time. It took ten minuets of trying for him to gain access to the ECU coding which he proudly displayed on screen pointing out which streams of data did what.Īlong with the fuelling the ignition timing can also be adjusted too - so no timing wheel needed. The ECU is indeed locked, and protected on two levels by different codes. He always maintained that if it had an ECU he could remap it - so I rolled my victory into his workshop and threw down the gauntlet. He built my ZZR motor and mapped that on his dyno with spectacular results. I have a friend who works writing software / mapping ECUs for race teams. I know the accepted knowledge is that the victory ECU can't be remapped. I've currently got a power commander 5 fitted, but this is going up for sale - won't be needed.
